Clopay Commercial Products Group is introducing a rolling grille system designed to secure interior and exterior openings without sacrificing air circulation or light infiltration.
Attractive, durable and versatile, these heavy-duty grilles can be used to control access to restaurants and storefronts, as well as to partition off areas within buildings, such as pharmacies, parts counters and security checkpoints during “off hours.”
Clopay rolling grille systems are manufactured in a variety of metal finishes including polished stainless steel, galvanized steel and anodized aluminum, and custom built to meet specified opening, operation and design preferences.
A choice of straight-lattice or staggered brick pattern is offered for aesthetic interest. An aluminum curtain featuring an optional attached fire-retardant polycarbonate panel is also available for added protection against theft.
Hand crank, hand chain and motor operated grille systems are offered. Standard push-up operation is also available for grilles under 10’ high or widths less than 16'4”. For wider grilles (up to 22’), Clopay offers an EZ Lift Push-Up Package. The curtain stores in a compact, space-saving coil at the head of the opening when it is not in use.
Clopay’s easy self-supporting installation system allows grilles to be fitted in before walls are built and before there is an opening. Structural tubular members, which are factory machined and fitted for grille guides and brackets, attach directly to the slab below and joists above ensuring proper fit and function of the grille unit.
To comply with building code emergency egress requirements, Clopay motor-operated grilles feature an easy-to-use Manual Release System. A wall mounted pull handle disengages the motor drive and opens the grille part way for egress. Releasing the pull handle resets the grille to normal operation.
The curtains are available in three patterns:
• Straight Pattern Grille Model CESG10
Open curtain, which allows air circulation, is formed with a series of horizontal rods 5/16" in diameter. Vertical chains are formed of eyeletted aluminum or stainless steel on 9", 6", or 3" centers. Available in aluminum mill, clear or color anodized finish of alloy 5056 H32, solid 300 series stainless steel-polished or solid galvanized steel.
• Brick Pattern Grille Model CESG12
Horizontal 5/16" diameter solid aluminum rods staggered at 2" centers throughout the entire curtain assembly. Available in aluminum-mill, clear, or color anodized finish in alloy 5056 H32.
• Glazed Panel Model CESG11
For increased protection from theft of small articles through the curtain, the glazed panel grille is constructed of clear 12" x 3", 1/8" thick Lexan® (or equal) panels. The flame retardant polycarbonate panels are secured to bronze color molded nylon links attached to 5/16" diameter solid aluminum horizontal rods for increased protection from small article theft, odors and smoke.
