Clopay Statement on COVID-19
We are experiencing one of the most unusual and challenging health events in our lifetime. All of us are adjusting to new ways of working and living. We want you to know what we are doing for our customers and associates.
Clopay is designated an essential business by state and federal officials.
First responders and many vital businesses depend on our garage doors to protect and secure their facilities. Think about:
- The fire department that relies on the door opening so trucks and ambulances can respond to a 911 call;
- The hospital or medical supplier that needs our doors to secure valuable, life-saving equipment;
- The food distributor who needs to protect products, opening the warehouse door to load trucks that deliver to grocery stores and, ultimately, the family table;
The products we make help keep these front-line workers safe and operating so they can provide essential goods and care to the people in our communities.
Families also need peace of mind in knowing that their garage door will open and close reliably if they need their car to drive to the pharmacy, the grocery store or to an urgent care facility.
What we do matters, especially now.
To help keep our associates safe while they are working, we are following steps recommended by state and federal health professionals.
Here is what we are doing:
- For those who can do their work at home, we are asking them to do so.
- We have discontinued business travel.
- In our facilities, we are conducting temperature scans, social distancing, frequent and deep cleaning and sanitization of work and commons spaces and providing sanitizer and disinfectant throughout our facility. Our plant managers and supervisors are walking the floor to ensure compliance with these practices.
- We have advised all associates to stay home if they feel sick.
- Associates will be sent home if they have a fever, exhibit symptoms of an illness, or have come in contact with someone who is sick.
- Visits from non-essential employees and external suppliers to our manufacturing plants are stopped.
- We are working with associates to address any special concerns or needs they might have.
