DIY Network's "Dream House" is set to redefine how TV viewers think about log cabin design. For one thing, the show’s producers selected Clopay's contemporary aluminum and glass Avante Collection garage doors for the home’s new detached garage -- not what you'd expect to find in a rustic, upstate New York cabin.

The five-part series, now airing Sunday nights at 8pm on the cable network, follows a Manhattan couple through site challenges, permit issues and an ambitious construction schedule as they attempt to build their dream cabin in the Catskill Mountains.

Custom Overhead Door Inc. in Chatham, New York managed the garage door installation.

“We are eager to see the how the Avante Collection garage doors tie-in to the other exterior elements on the finished cabin,” says Pat Lohse, vice president of residential marketing for Clopay. “This is the second project this year where designers have surprised us by specifying the Avante for use on more traditional architectural styles.”

Architect Ed Binkley also selected Avante Collection garage doors for the Green Builder VISION House in Orlando. The newly constructed urban farmhouse was unveiled during the International Builder’s Show.
