Clopay® partnered with dealer Cox Door Company in Indian Trail, N.C. to install a Coachman® Collection garage door as part of a whole house renovation project featured on “For Your Home” (FYH), one of the longest running national home and garden television series airing on PBS.
This season, design expert and show host Vicki Payne tackles a whole house remodeling project for clients who want to update their 1980s Charlotte, North Carolina home with contemporary details.
Payne used Clopay’s Door Imagination System to show the homeowners three different garage door design options, which included a flush panel steel door, the Avante Collection glass garage door, and the Coachman Collection carriage house door.
“While they loved the striking appearance of the glass door, they felt it didn’t fit with the style of the other houses on the block,” says Payne. The garage door is the first thing guests see when they approach the house, so it was important to set the stage for the clean lines and earth tones present throughout the home. A very simple design in the Coachman Collection turned out to be the winning choice.
“Carriage house garage doors aren’t just for historic homes. Vicki’s project shows that it can be a great solution to warm up a contemporary or transitional exterior if you choose a simple panel style,” says Clopay senior product manager Justin Evans, who appeared on the show with Vicki to talk about the garage door features and benefits. “Adding large rectangular windows also gave the door a more modern feel.”
The Coachman Collection door operates with the convenience of a LiftMaster® Model 8550 opener with MyQ® technology.
