The dramatic exterior makeover results were revealed live Friday, August 24th, on Fox & Friends national morning show. Watch a video clip of the live reveal.

A total of three winners were chosen for the national GAF exterior home makeover contest.

The winning families were selected from three entry categories (a) if you or someone living with you suffers from an illness, (b) if you are or were recently in the military, or (c) if you suffered a weather-related event. The Kurtz family was selected as the winner for the military category as a result of Mr. Kurtz's military involvement of more than three decades.

Melinda Kurtz entered to win in honor of her husband's 34 years of service. On his last tour to Iraq, he was injured and also now suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder after multiple deployments. Along with their dedication to the U.S. military, the Kurtz family has also taken in their two nieces in order to give them a better life and safer home.

In addition to receiving product, the Kurtz family had the opportunity to help design their new exterior by selecting color schemes and materials on The Designed Exterior Studio by Ply Gem visualizer at www.plygem.com.

Clopay's Canyon Ridge Collection is the perfect accent for the front-facing two car garage on this Craftsman style ranch and coordinates nicely with the overall color scheme and other details like the front door

Constructed from a durable, low-maintenance, energy-efficient composite material that looks like real wood, the Canyon Ridge Collection is moisture-resistant, so it won’t rot, warp, shrink, or crack. Like wood, the surface can be painted or stained.

The cladding is molded from actual wood pieces to replicate the species natural grain textures and intricate grain patterns.

The Canyon Ridge features with 2" of polyurethane insulation with a 20.4 R-value to improve the comfort of the Kurtz’s home year round. Insulation is an important consideration since the garage is attached to the home.
